I wanted to try something new with my face. I saw this picture on one of my favorite Tumblrs, The Witch and the Wardrobe (if you click on the picture link, you’ll see it’s from a different Tumblr). Unfortunately, I couldn’t add the photo to my post. Crazy daggone artists and their copyrights! Oh well, no biggie. You can click the link or just look at the one and only, whom I’m sure the photo was inspired from:
In all of my years as a goth, I have never worn my eye makeup like Siouxsie Sioux. I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off. Plus, it seemed like it would take a long time to do.
But I had some extra time yesterday morning, so I decided to give it a try. Besides, if I’m going to try my hand at makeup artistry, I need to experiment with different styles. So, here’s how it turned out:
I think I did a pretty good job. One thing I would change is my eyebrows. I think I could have shaded them in a bit more, making them blend in more with the black eyeshadow. I could also use a bit more black eyeshadow along the crease of my eyelids.
Here’s what I wore. Just jeans, boots, and a lace shirt. Not spectacular, but definitely old school:
So, I would say that my Siouxsie eyes went pretty well. I will definitely do this again and probably switch it up a bit in the near future.
This is a quick post, wishing all of you dark lovelies a Happy World Goth Day. This day kind of snuck up on me, but I was accidentally prepared. I’ll be attending an art exhibit later with my bff, Z. There will be a longer post tomorrow.
So, until then…

Here is a mix of tribal goth and whatever goth. Who knows? This is why a lot of goths just say to hell with these categories. Either way, it’s a beautiful, sunny day – a perfect day to break in my new platform sneakers, which I bought last year (!).
Hello, all! Today is the first good Monday I’ve had in I don’t know how many years. My work schedule has changed from the dreaded earlier morning to a more doable (and late) morning, 11 am to 7 pm. I also started ATS classes this past Saturday, so I’m actually in a good mood today!
Since I’ve started ATS, I was in the mood for a tribal goth outfit today:
Here’s today’s face. Dark eyelids and a single bindi:
That’s all for now. I have started taking ATS (American Tribal Style®) belly dance classes and I’m so excited! I will do a post on my ATS adventures soon.
It got pretty toasty here in the DC metro area, yesterday. It went up to 90° Fahrenheit (32° Celsius), so I wanted to wear something light and easy.
I received a lot of compliments on my dress. There was nothing special about the dress, but this is what usually happens when I wear white. That, or people ask me, “what’s wrong?”. It always tickles me how I can throw people off, simply by not wearing black.
Anyhoo, where’s what I wore yesterday. I finally found thigh-high socks that stay up and doesn’t make my thighs look like muffin-tops:
And here’s how I wore my face. I’ve been pleased with myself for turning up the volume on the makeup. It’s been a bit on the conservative side. My awesome friend, Matt, had suggested that I line and darken my eyebrows more. He said that would make my eyes pop, and he was right:
Here’s my basic outfit for today. I don’t know if it’s my age or what, but since I’m working to simplify my life, my wardrobe’s getting progressively more basic. I have no issues with this. Using the 80/20 Rule (the Pareto Principle), most people wear 20% of their clothing 80% of the time. I think this includes me. Besides, one of the things I like about the gothic lifestyle is that you can keep it simple or dress it up to your heart’s content.
Here’s my face for today. I’m a big fan of the cut crease to accentuate my eyes. I’ve never seen a cat-eye style not work for anyone’s face. It’s like the little black dress for your eyes:
Happy Thursday, lovelies! I decided to wear my glasses today. Unfortunately, these are real, prescription eyeglasses – I don’t wear these just for fashion. I just wasn’t in the mood for contacts today, and since I’m wearing glasses my makeup is pretty basic:
Hello, my pretties! I ordered two maang tikka from Etsy a couple of weeks ago. As you can tell, I love face bling! I wore a tikka once during my first solo dance performance, which was NOT big enough! Here’s my face – new and improved with a larger tikka:
