Yesterday’s look was inspired by January’s birthstone, Garnet. Garnets are mainly red, but can be found in all colors except blue, which is very rare. Garnets can be found all over the world and have been valued for over 5000 years, since the Bronze Age. The name “garnet” comes from the word granatum, the Latin word for “pomegranate”.

I wanted to change my birthstone posts up a bit from last year. Last year’s posts were more informative, but this year’s posts will be short and sweet. For a little more information on garnets, you can read my garnet post from 2015. For a lot more information you can go to Crystal Vaults.
