OOTD & MOTD for January’s Birthstone: Garnet

Yesterday’s look was inspired by January’s birthstone, Garnet.  Garnets are mainly red, but can be found in all colors except blue, which is very rare.  Garnets can be found all over the world and have been valued for over 5000 years, since the Bronze Age.  The name “garnet” comes from the word granatum, the Latin word for “pomegranate”.

I wanted to change my birthstone posts up a bit from last year.  Last year’s posts were more informative, but this year’s posts will be short and sweet. For a little more information on garnets, you can read my garnet post from 2015.  For a lot more information you can go to Crystal Vaults.

  1. I’m loving the birthstone Project 666 idea! In fact, reading all about your capsule wardrobe I think it’s an amazing idea and I’m so curious to see how it pans out. You’ve made some wonderful choices for your pieces, they look like they can be dressed up and down so easily 🙂

    1. Thank you, L and you are so right. I love pieces that you can dress up, dress down, and layer. I’ve made some decisions in regards to which articles of clothing to keep, but the final decision is what I actually wear. So, I’m working on this project as I go along. 🙂

    1. Ooh, yes! Great idea. I don’t know that much about chakras, so this is the perfect excuse for me to do a blog post. And thanks for your kind words.
