Hello, my dark lovelies! Today is Paraskevidekatriaphobia! Don’t worry, I’m not cursing you out – it just means a fear of Friday the 13th. This word is a combination of the Greek words paraskeví (“Friday”) and dekatreís (“thirteen”). Triskaidekaphobia is the fear of the number 13. To help honor this “frightful” day, Edgar, my handsome “fur baby”, allowed me to take a couple of photos of him.
What better day to wear my new, black cat earrings than Friday the 13th? Here’s what I’m wearing today:
Today’s the day to also wear cat-eye makeup with my cat-eye glasses:
That’s it for now, lovelies. This is the only time Friday the 13th will happen this year, so I’ll leave you with a poem titled, “Friday the Thirteenth” by poet, Brian Bilston. Happy Friday the 13th!
Hello, my friends in darkness. Yesterday was Friday the 13th! Nothing special happened – just another opportunity to acknowledge the day wearing all black. I’ve also (finally) uploaded my “Darkling Tag” video, in which I was tagged by the lovely Ramona, blog mistress of Just Keep Brains!.
Here’s what I wore yesterday. I’m completely in love with this bat-wing shirt that I ordered from Amazon. It’s so soft and comfy! I wore it with my black velvet bell bottoms:
Here’s yesterday’s face. I wore heavier glitter ’cause I was in the mood for some sparkle! I went heavy on the eye makeup and kept my lips lightly tinted:
And finally, here’s my Darkling Tag video. I didn’t tag anyone else, since I’m so late in getting this thing posted. The good news is that I’m (slowly) getting the hang of making videos. I need to work on making them shorter, though. Lol.
Hello, fellow bohos! It’s Friday the 13th again, for the second month in a row – another day to be dark and beautiful. I took a personal day off today, so this ensemble is what I wore to work yesterday. I’m so happy that the weather’s slowly getting warmer!
Here’s my outfit and I (finally!) got to wear something long. This is an outfit that I’ll wear a lot, because it’s long, witchy, and floaty. I’m still in the process of getting rid of some clothes (future post on that, coming soon), but these 2 pieces I’m keeping:
Here’s yesterday’s makeup. I’ve been experimenting with my eye makeup, by using just black and a neutral, beige eye shadow. Instead of applying the black eye shadow on my entire eyelids, I applied it on the outer half:
I like the final result of the “half-shadow” look. Next time, I’ll try this look using colored eye shadow. I’ll also apply more black shadow above the eye crease. I did apply the black shadow on my eye crease, but you can only see it when my eyes are closed (see my half-face above). But, my makeup skills are improving. Practice makes perfect.
Yesterday was Friday the 13th, so I wondered what I should wear. After thinking about it for about 3 seconds, I decided that Friday the 13th called for black and nothing else. I also decided to go for dark eyes and naked lips again.
Here’s yesterday’s outfit:
Here’s my makeup. I wanted to try a smoldering, shadowy look to go with my crescent moon. The crescent moon was made from a stencil, that was part of my EyeCons kit:
I highly recommend the EyeCons kit to add a bit of flair to your everyday makeup. These are perfect for when I want something on my forehead, but not anything “blingy”. And Jessica Martinez, Ms. EyeCons herself, is a belly dancer so these are perfect for dance (she also makes a “sweat-proof” kit)! You even get to choose your colors and your stencils. I think it’s a great buy.
I didn’t realize until I got to work that today is Friday the 13th. Not only that, but there’s also supposed to be a full moon tonight. And I decide to wear white! GRRRR! But it’s muggy and we’re supposed to get thunderstorms this afternoon so, oh well. At least I’m comfortable.
Here is my makeup for today. Very basic for summer. Face bling and black eyeliner is all that’s needed for a humid day:
And here’s my outfit for today:
That’s it for today. I hope you lovelies have an awesome weekend!
