Today is Winter Solstice, which marks the longest night of the year. It is also the first day of Winter, so I decided to experiment with blue eye-makeup. Nothing says “wintery night” to me than dark blue, black and silver. The silver sparkles could mimic stars. Plus, it’s the holidays!
Of course, since I don’t work on the weekends (yay!) I wore this to work on Friday. Here’s what I wore:
Here’s what I wore on my face. Although I wear colorful makeup for my dance performances, I was a bit apprehensive wearing colorful makeup outside of dance. Can I pull this look off? I think I can, so I decided to experiment:
I like how it turned out. I’ve been pretty conservative with my makeup lately and it has been such a snooze-fest. I’m looking forward to trying out more colors in the near future.
My last post was in August and that’s also when some unnecessary drama slithered its way into my life. My emotional state hasn’t been the greatest and when I don’t feel good, I don’t look good. My blog has also taken a hit, since I wasn’t ready to face the world.
But such is life. Lessons have been learned, I’ve dusted myself off and now I’m ready to get back into the swing of things. So, I’m back in black and here’s what I wore yesterday:
While Summer officially started on June 21, the weather is now starting to heat up and the humidity is creeping in. So, you’ll see very minimal makeup and not much layering. Basically, summer is the season for “gothic-lite”.
We’ll start with my outfit today, since my makeup is almost non-existent. Once again, I’m wearing my 25-yard skirt with a t-shirt. I need to get another one of these skirts, since I wear it almost every week. It’s just perfect for layering, and also to wear alone when it’s hot (like today). And how can I not feel like a dancer, wearing this ruffly, full skirt?
Here’s my face for today. Be prepared to see me in almost no make-up. I forgot my eyeliner at home today (oops), so I had to make do with just good ol’ mascara. I’ll probably skip the eyeshadow until the humidity dies down in the fall, because eyeshadow + skin-melting humidity = not cute. At all.
My face looks so boring today, but oh well. Let’s hope I remember the eyeliner tomorrow, ’cause I need something else on my face besides face bling.
