Today’s post is my lookbook for the birth flowers of this year. Just like the birthstone lookbook, this post is mostly pictures and not much text. There’s a video at the end that shows my outfits and the ATS® dance moves for each month. To view the full post on each birth flower, just click on the name of that flower.
Wowzers! What a crappy week it’s been for me. I am SO glad that the weekend’s finally here!
Here is what I wore yesterday. I was in the mood for an outfit leaning more on the tribal/hippie side. Looking and feeling like a dancer always brightens my mood. If I had to dance on stage on the spur of the moment, I would be ready! All I would have to do is tie up my shirt, kick off my sandals, and dance!
The t-shirt is old and faded, but it’s so comfy. I think it goes well with the ruffle pants (yes, they’re pants) that I bought recently. The black hip scarf was part of my Tribaret costume from a previous performance:
Here’s my face. My eyebrows are getting too thick! Time to get them waxed:
I didn’t realize until I got to work that today is Friday the 13th. Not only that, but there’s also supposed to be a full moon tonight. And I decide to wear white! GRRRR! But it’s muggy and we’re supposed to get thunderstorms this afternoon so, oh well. At least I’m comfortable.
Here is my makeup for today. Very basic for summer. Face bling and black eyeliner is all that’s needed for a humid day:
And here’s my outfit for today:
That’s it for today. I hope you lovelies have an awesome weekend!
Summer’s really starting to kick in and not only has it been raining, but it’s starting to get a bit muggy. So, today’s makeup is light and summer-friendly.
Here’s my face. The eye primer is Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion (Original shade) and it’s perfect for when you want a light touch of eye makeup. It’s used on my eyelids and for the line down my forehead:
I didn’t want to wear bulky jewelry today, so I opted for thin touches of silver:
It’s raining, so it’s boots and a short dress. I still wear leggings in the summer. Tights are a lighter weight, but they’re not as comfortable – especially since the crotch tends to shift down on me. Not only are my leggings cotton, but I don’t have to constantly pull them up!
It’s supposed to rain all week (booooo!) and I don’t have that many short things, but we’ll see what I can do. There’s always jeans and boots – I’m sure those will pop up this week.
Well, well my Pretties! Today is the 6th and final day of Red & Black Week and it’s been so much fun dressing up for this occasion. It’s also Friday, so I’m a pretty happy camper right now.
Here’s what I’m wearing for the final day. The choker that I wore on Day 3 would have been perfect for this outfit, but unfortunately, it was a bit snug on my neck (I’ve already ordered a larger size); it put the CHOKE in choker! That’s one reason why it’s nice to have different types of chokers.
Before we get to the clothing, here is what my face looks like today. This final day called for heavy eyes and face bling:
Here’s my jewelry. The pen-like object (which happens to be red, natch) hanging around my neck is actually an electronic cigarette. It’s been 2 years since I last smoked a real cigarette. Yay!
Today, I wore another version of my “uniform”. The long, loose dress is actually a clothing blank from Dharma Trading Co., whom specialize in dyes and silkscreen materials for clothing. The dress is topped with a sheer, lace shirt. Studded boots add to the comfort:
Whew! What a fun way to end the work week. Thanks to Red & Black Week, I actually looked quite pretty for 6 days in a row! Thanks to Victorian Kitty for hosting Red & Black Week and thanks to everyone for all of the kind comments!
It’s Day 4 of Red & Black Week and it’s June, so the weather’s really starting to warm up here. I’m starting to show a bit more skin and a little less makeup (just a little less).
I decided to pair a shorter dress over the 25-yard skirt that I wore on Day 2. If I had to choose one “uniform”, it would be this one. It’s comfortable and gives me an A-line, which is great for my pear-shaped body. It’s also easy to add a cardigan, long black beads and Victorian boots for fall weather.
Here is what I’m wearing today. If it was raining, I would wear the red dress alone with tall boots or moccasins. But since it’s dry today, I can wear a longer skirt underneath, which is what I prefer. And my tabi boots are so comfortable.
Since I’m a dancer, a dress or a skirt that spins is a huge plus!
Here is today’s makeup. It’s not much, but the tikka on my forehead adds a nice touch. Paired with long dresses and skirts, I can’t help but feel like a goddess!
Woo hoo! I’ve kept up with the red & black theme everyday, so far. It’s not required, but it makes me happy that I committed to something. Stay tuned for Day 5.
Hello, Lovelies! Tuesday I went Trad Goth, so yesterday I decided to go with some belly dance flair. The only thing belly dance though was my makeup, but my outfit had an early 20th-century-like vibe.
So, let’s start with my face:
Here’s what I wore yesterday. While most of my jewelry is bought on Etsy, a lot of clothing is bought on Ebay – except my Victorian boots. I bought these boots from the Ladies Emporium, where they sell 19th century-style clothing. I thought I would never find a quality pair of Victorian boots, at an affordable price:
And if you can’t get enough of my sparkly face (tee hee!), here’s an Instagram pic in pretty pastel colors (please don’t barf):
Hello, all! Today is the first good Monday I’ve had in I don’t know how many years. My work schedule has changed from the dreaded earlier morning to a more doable (and late) morning, 11 am to 7 pm. I also started ATS classes this past Saturday, so I’m actually in a good mood today!
Since I’ve started ATS, I was in the mood for a tribal goth outfit today:
Here’s today’s face. Dark eyelids and a single bindi:
That’s all for now. I have started taking ATS (American Tribal Style®) belly dance classes and I’m so excited! I will do a post on my ATS adventures soon.
