Hello, lovelies! I’m a bit late in posting an update on my dreadlocks, but I had a major system fail this past weekend. Like an idiot, I didn’t back up my system and I had to create a new YouTube channel since I’ve lost access to my old one. GRRRR! The good news is, I was smart enough to save my videos, so I’m working on re-uploading them to my new channel. The huge lesson I learned is to BACK UP MY COMPUTER SYSTEM.
Anyhoo, let’s move on to what I wore. It was another hot and humid day with NO BREEZE WHATSOEVER. So I kept it very simple with a shirt dress and leggings:
Here are my new winklepickers! Woot! The flat soles and low cut of these shoes may not suit my body type, but I really don’t care. I absolutely love them. They’re handmade with black suede and pentacle buckles, purchased from The Gothic Shoe Company. They also have a store on Etsy.
My face was even more simple than my outfit. Just eyeliner and lipstick. I added a silver moon stamp for a bit of flair:
And finally, here’s the update on my dreadlocks. They’re getting longer and thicker, which makes me very happy!
That’s it for now, lovelies. It’s been a frustrating week, but some lessons are learned the hard way. Please check out my new channel, Gothic SoulFlower. To start fresh, I’ve added another OOTD video to my new channel. Please enjoy.
It’s a very beautiful day today. The high temp today will be a breezy, 79° F (26° C) and I decided to go for simplicity. Since I’m wearing my new glasses, I kept the rest of my outfit basic (don’t I always go for basic?).
Here’s my face and jewelry today. It feels kind of strange wearing only one necklace (instead of layers of necklaces), but it’s a rosary-style pentacle and I didn’t want anything to compete with that:
Woo hoo! The high temperature today will be 82° F (27° C) and there’s no humidity. Since the weather today is unseasonably spring-like, I took the opportunity to dress more trad goth. Here’s what I’m wearing today. Just a simple black dress and simple black leggings, paired with winklepickers:
Here’s what my face looks like today. Again, my usual summer makeup – eyeliner and face bling:
Here’s my basic outfit for today. I don’t know if it’s my age or what, but since I’m working to simplify my life, my wardrobe’s getting progressively more basic. I have no issues with this. Using the 80/20 Rule (the Pareto Principle), most people wear 20% of their clothing 80% of the time. I think this includes me. Besides, one of the things I like about the gothic lifestyle is that you can keep it simple or dress it up to your heart’s content.
Here’s my face for today. I’m a big fan of the cut crease to accentuate my eyes. I’ve never seen a cat-eye style not work for anyone’s face. It’s like the little black dress for your eyes:
