Hello, fellow darklings. Today is Winter Solstice, which marks the first official day of Winter and also the longest night (and shortest day) of the year. Unfortunately, I “celebrated” Winter by having a nasty cold all week. Yuck! Fortunately, I’m feeling a lot better.
Today’s outfit is very simple. I’m working on simplifying my wardrobe (post coming up soon) and today it’s just a skirt, a sweater, leggings, and a pair of boots. It’s also been raining, so no long skirts or pants for today.
I decided on dark makeup for Winter Solstice: dark eyes and dark lips. Instead of my usual bindi, I’m wearing on 2 stamped diamonds on my forehead. Nothing sparkly – just simple and dark.
Well, that’s it for today. My apologies for the short (but simple – *wink*) post. The next couple of posts will be pretty short as well, since they will be year-in-review posts. Christmas is this Friday and I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday!
Today is Winter Solstice, which marks the longest night of the year. It is also the first day of Winter, so I decided to experiment with blue eye-makeup. Nothing says “wintery night” to me than dark blue, black and silver. The silver sparkles could mimic stars. Plus, it’s the holidays!
Of course, since I don’t work on the weekends (yay!) I wore this to work on Friday. Here’s what I wore:
Here’s what I wore on my face. Although I wear colorful makeup for my dance performances, I was a bit apprehensive wearing colorful makeup outside of dance. Can I pull this look off? I think I can, so I decided to experiment:
I like how it turned out. I’ve been pretty conservative with my makeup lately and it has been such a snooze-fest. I’m looking forward to trying out more colors in the near future.
